Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your MoneyBlock account. In addition to your password, you’ll be asked to verify your identity using a one-time securitycode. This helps ensure that only you can access your account, even if your password is evercompromised.

How You're Protected

With 2FA enabled, signing in requires two forms of verification:

  • Something you know: your MoneyBlock password
  • Something you have: a one-time security code sent to your email or phone

This additional step significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

When 2FA Is Required

2FA is required when you log in to your MoneyBlock account.

Logging in with 2FA gives you access to your account, including security settings and other sensitive features.

If you sign in without 2FA enabled, you’ll be guided through setup immediately after a successful login.

How 2FA Works at MoneyBlock

MoneyBlock uses email and text message (SMS) verification for two-factor authentication.

To ensure you always have a backup option, both methods must be verified during initial setup.

Verfication Methods

  • Text message (SMS): A one-time security code sent to a phone number on your account
  • Email: A one-time security code sent to the email address on your account

Security codes are time-sensitive and expire shortly after being sent.

Setting Up 2FA

You can complete 2FA setup in any of the following places:

  • Immediately after logging in, if 2FA is not yet enabled
  • From the Security section in Account Management on the web
  • From the Security screen in the MoneyBlock mobile app

Setup Steps

  • Verify the text message (SMS) 2FA method by confirming a phone number on your account
  • Verify the email 2FA method by confirming the email address tied to your account

If you leave setup after completing one step, you’ll resume where you left off the next time you return.

If you need to update your email or phone number during setup, you’ll be guided to make that change before continuing.

Availability

  • 2FA applies to eligible, fully created MoneyBlock accounts
  • Virtual trading accounts do not use 2FA

Managing Your 2FA Settings

From the Security section on web or mobile, you can:

  • View your 2FA status
  • Complete setup if it isn’t finished
  • Verify individual methods
  • Update the phone number used for text verification
  • Change your account email address

Important things to know

  • Each 2FA method can be tied to only one email address or one phone number at a time
  • Changing an email address or phone number that’s used for 2FA requires re-verification
  • If only one 2FA method is verified, the contact tied to that remaining method can’t be changed until a backup 2FA method is added

Why MoneyBlock Uses 2FA

Protecting your account is a top priority at MoneyBlock. Two-factor authentication helps safeguard your personal information and trading activity by adding an extra layer of verification at sign-in.
